It's PUPPY BOWL time!

Once again Animal Planet is filming with only adoptable/adopted puppies – and we want to help them fulfill this goal. Many of you watched Puppy Bowl V last year and celebrated with us to see Petfinder.com as the call to action to adopt a homeless pet. We hope to raise awareness about adoption even further this year as Puppy Bowl VI airs in February 2010.
Here is your chance to help. Puppy Bowl VI is going to film puppies on Sunday, October 25 at Discovery Studios in Silver Spring, MD. We are looking for a variety of adoptable/adopted puppies to include in the filming. All breeds and mixed breeds will be considered.

Do you have adoptable pups who will be between 9 weeks old (for larger breeds) and 15 weeks old (smaller breeds) on October 25th and can travel to MD? Recently adopted puppies can be included, as well.
If you can help, please reply to outreach@petfinder.com with the following:
  • Your Petfinder Organization: Animal Resource Center
  • Petfinder ID: PA469
  • Your name and contact information
  • Puppy name & age (on 10/25) and breed (or breeds as best ad you can guess)
  • Puppy photo (try to include something like a soda can in the picture for scale)
We are hoping to provide such a wide variety of wonderful adoptable pups that all the puppies in Puppy Bowl VI can be from Petfinder member shelter and rescue groups.

There is work to be done...

Volunteers are needed to help in many aspects of getting the new shelter up and running. We need interior and exterior painters, mowers & weeders, grass planters & landscapers, and just about anything related to getting a new building and land finished.

If you have ANY handyman skills, please call 784-3669 to volunteer, or, just show up. Click here for a map. We will meet every Sunday at 10:00 a.m., rain or shine, until this gets done. We must finish before winter sets in!

Also, We need foster parents for the animals during the transition to our new shelter this fall. We need to line up STEADY regular reliable volunteers to mow the lawn, walk the dogs, clean the kennels, scoop the yard, feed the cats, etc., and to provide general TLC to the animals.

Please call 784-3669 to volunteer.
